We are delighted to confirm that we have agreed the signing of the following two experienced players:

Chris Holland - 29 year old, left sided centre back. An integral part of the Bath City side that has recently won promotion ot the BSN. Chris is re-locating to the Southampton area, and is an exceptional player at BSS level. Formerly with Team Bath, Bristol City and Exeter City.

Jamie Slabber - 25 years old, 6'2" Centre Forward. Jamie has joined us from Woking, having previously played at Havant & Waterlooville, Grays Athletic, Aldershot & Tottenham Hotspur. Jamie has also represented England at under 18 and under 19 level.

These two players bring experience and undoubted ability to the Club, and will join us from the first day of pre-season training in July. We welcome them both.

Pleased to hear confirmation of the two new signings. Holland looks a great one, a regular last season for Bath. Slabber hardly played at all for Woking last year guessed he was out on loan last season.

Looking forward to seeing these new faces at the Silverlake next season and hopefully a couple more new faces

Slabber moved to Woking from Grays at Christmas and it would appear his all round lack of ability lead to his lack of appearences.

just a tip for you with him , get Radio Spitefire or whatever its  called to ring and pretend they're Bono or something, he'll willingly sing down the radio for you.

Gullible as well as useless.

Slabber doesnt figure too highly in the eyes of seemingly all Woking fans. Cant find a good word said about him....i'll keep looking!
But 6'2 centre forward to partner Gilly is what we need, so lets hope he proves a few people wrong and does the biz for us.
Is Holland Pacey?, i must have seen him play, but cant recall him standing out in any way, so i look forward to seeing him playing alongside Tom for the Spitfires.

...Just been reading that Holland joined Bath City as a STRIKER in 2008, having played for a few league clubs, but has since converted to a defender. So he knows where the goal is, which helps. Looks a big lad in the pic!

Jamie Slabber .....
If Andy Forbes having played only made 34 League starts in the last two seasons does not represent value for money,I`m not convinced how Mr Slabber fills the role of value for money having played less.
Now I know am not party or do I wish to be party to dressing room politics, but I remain less than convinced by this signing.
Having said that I congratulate the club on the signing of Chris Holland.

I reckon Chris Holland is a superb signing for Eastleigh.  He is a quality defender, and great in the air.  With him and Tom Jordan going up for corners the opposition won't know who to watch.  It's a shame he is leaving City, because I reckon he would have been great in the Conference.  However, as he is now moving to Southampton, I can certainly understand why he doesn't want to be travelling up to Bath several times a week for training and matches, as well as all the extra travelling in the Conference (which seems to be based in the north these days).  It's bad enough driving up the A36 for home games.

Regarding the report quoted earlier, it was referring to Danny Webb as having started as a striker and having played for league clubs.  I don't think Holland has ever been anything other than a defender, and I don't think he has ever played at any level above Conference South.

By the way, 'Dutch' has already scored at Ten Acres, getting City's second in the 4-4 draw in January 2007.  Typically, it was a header from a corner, although it wasn't one of his better ones.  Hopefully, you will get to see how ridiculously high he can jump to get his head to a cross.

Good to see we have made our first couple of signings look forward to seeing them play.

Bit premature to make any judgements untill we've actually seen them in an EFC shirt I reckon!

Yes I agree with Rendel on this one. Lets see how he does for us; I couldn't give a monkey's how he did for other clubs. After all we have had enough players be dynamite for other clubs and then be bloody useless for us - anyone remember Hadow?

So we let Forbsey go and he signs for Woking. In return , we sign a player who Woking obviously don't feel is as good as Forbsey.
Some has seriously F#$%@d up here. I just hope it's them not us!

My first post was a little unfair and showed my poor mental maths to the full .

Jamie played 23 times over 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 for that lot up the road. Then 39 times over 2008/2009-2009/2010 for Grays.I believe he was released by Grays last season and ended up at Woking last year where he made 2 appearances.Between 2007 and 2010 scoring a total of 11 times.

There is no doubting he has been brought into do a different job to Forbes and I hope he came cheaper.I really do want the lad to succeed, time will tell whether we or Woking got the better end of the deal.
