Hi All
Our sincere apologies for the problems we have been experiencing with the web site and especially the forum. I have attached the e-mail from our excellent web designer/manager that explains the amount of work and effort (entirely donated to the club!) they put into solving the problem.
As you can see, unfortunately Forums in general are susceptible to attack from malicious codes etc. and anyone who would like to cause us pain or just to be a pain in the *ss and has enough knowledge can cause this type of problem.

Hi Denis

It seems the forum is back up.  I've logged in and all seems to be ok.  I'll keep an eye on it.  As I said, we have located the problem and fixed it, along with the files on the site.  This will stop this type of attack but it won't stop them next time they find a hole.  With forums it is, unfortunately, a case of 'when' and not 'if'.

We've had up to 3 developers fixing this.  We had 2 looking for the problem and 1 fixing the site.  The trouble we had was that we'd fix the site and then at about 11.15pm the attack would take place and we'd come back in the morning to find that it had happened again.

Touch wood, we've now had 2 nights where there has been no further attack.

Kind Regards,
Andy

The problems with accessing from Google are because it is registered with them as having a problem.  I submitted the site for review which can take some time.  I'll be watching and will chase Google through out developers account if it doesn't get resolved.

If anyone has any queries then please contact me and I'll be glad to help.  The best bet would be to use the contact form on www.builtwithinsight.co.uk.  I have also subscribed to replies to this thread and made it sticky so that it remains visible.

I know one of the problems people experience from time to time is the registration process on here where they don't get approved.  I get loads of e-mails from the forum where dodgy people, usually spammers, have registered.  It's always possible that I miss the odd real one.  It shouldn't take more than 24 hours for the registration process to go through.  If you haven't been approved then let me know and I can do it manually.

All the best,

Andy Jacobs

I am still having major problems getting on here. I get the Attack site attack warning on every page. I've tried logging on directly and via yahoo & google on 3 different PCs and get the same warning. I have click on ignore the warning at every step of the process. Is it just me still having issues?

Evening all

It seems our pesky little hacking friends are back.  I've removed the malicious code and submitted a request for a review to Google so that the site will be removed from any databases.

I've also put in another layer of security on the site.  I've had to clamp down as hard as I dare and this *might* introduce other issues.  Please let me know if you spot anything out of the ordinary as I might have to ease back a little.

Talk soon

Andy
